MobileDemand has demonstrated the durability of its xTablet T8700 by using it as a hammer to drive thick nails into a board.
The xTablet ran an accelerometer during the process to measure and display on-screen in real-time the impact from the pounding.
The device continued to work “without a glitch” with only minor denting of the case where it impacted with the nails.
It is a very interesting way to prove how durable the device is. I question the usefulness though. Sure you could use it as a hammer when you don’t have one handy, but I think I would still be worried about dropping it in fear of cracking the display.
