Phenom Watch Phone: MP3 & Camera & Touchscreen…Oh My.

Competition in the consumer electronics arena can be brutal. First LG announces a groundbreaking Watch Phone to show at CES 2009 and sure enough, some other company tops that by making a whole range of them available now. That company would be Phenom Communications, who have managed to pair an unlocked GSM cellphone and an MP3/MP4 player and pack it inside a touchscreen equipped wristwatch.

“Sex Chip” In Development To Stimulate Pleasure In The Brain

Scientists are apparently working on an electronic “Sex Chip” that can be implanted in the brain to stimulate the orbitofrontal cortex - the area associated with pleasurable activities such as sex and eating. One professor even predicts that by 2015 we’ll have implants controlled with hand-held transmitters, potentially giving rise to push-button-pleasure.

Energizer, it seems, have let slip some details about their upcoming Rechargeable Solar Charger which is due to be exhibited at the upcoming CES 2009. This neat little gadget charges its onboard rechargeable cells via a fold-out solar panel and from there you can recharge your gadgets through the built-in USB port.

Thanko CoolPad: Keeps Netbooks Cool, Adds Connectivity.

Thanko Japan have just released a new multifunction cooling pad for netbook users called the CoolPad, that cleverly incorporates a 2.5-inch SATA HDD slot and a 3-port USB hub. The pad, which is really more like a dock or a “mini-notebook PC station”, gives you a bit more flexibility when working with a pared-down netbook and keeps things cool when you’re over-working the CPU.

Terrafugia Transition Flying Car: Yours In 2009 For $194,000

Terrafugia have announced that they will start making deliveries of their “Transition” roadable plane as early as late next year for $194,000 (£127,000). The Transition will be first to market, ahead of the impressive Moller M400 Skycar which won’t be available until around 2015. Both vehicles will require a pilots license to fly, however.
