There are lots of gadgets out there that aim to help you back up your old VHS tapes in digital form, but this one announced today by Buffalo is the smallest I’ve yet to see. The PC-SDVD/U2 looks just like a USB flash drive, but with a port at the end for plugging in the included S-Video and RCA Composite Video connectors that in turn, hook up to your video player.
The included VHS to DVD 2.5 SE software captures the video input and saves it to your computer, ready to be played from the hard drive, burned to DVD or even transferred to your iPod or PSP for viewing on the go.
Buffalo’s PC-SDVD/U2 will be available in Japan from their site later this month for ¥5,300 ($60).
