Dog-Powered Vehicles: Get Around. With Your Hound.

Ever feel that walking the dog is a chore? How can a drained, overworked human possibly keep up with the boundless energy of a young canine companion? Well, thanks to these Dog-Powered Vehicles, you can take your pooch out for a run while you relax. Reclined on a Terra Trike or standing stationary on a dog-powered scooter, you steer the way and exercise is optional.

Invented by Mark Schuette, these dog-powered vehicles seem like a great way to get around town, or simply as a novel way of getting both your canine friend and yourself (if you want to help out) some exercise.

They are specially designed to give the rider complete control by harnessing a dog and its dog power like a kind of rear-wheel drive system. I’m not entirely convinced that if a large, powerful Husky or German Shepherd were to dart after a cat you’d remain in control, but it sure looks like fun.

Check out the pics and videos below and jump on over to Dog Powered Scooter for more things you can strap your dog to – including scooters, trikes and even skateboards.
