Infallibly Polite Speaking Alarm Clock Eases You Into Your Day

While a screeching alarm is certainly an effective way to rouse yourself from sleep, it is certainly not very pleasant and that’s where this product comes in. Called the Infallibly Polite Speaking Alarm Clock or The Speaking Butler Alarm Clock, it features the soothing voice of Stephen Fry as valet Reginald Jeeves (from the series Jeeves and Wooster), helping you to start your day in a comically civilized manner.

Equipped with 126 different wake-up messages from Jeeves including “Excuse me sir, I’m so sorry to disturb you, but it appears to be morning… Very inconvenient, I agree… I believe it is the rotation of the Earth that is to blame, sir,” this Speaking Butler Alarm Clock may just turn you into a morning person.

If you fail to rise after the first message, a series of beeps will sound which can be canceled with a touch of the rosette – which in turn prompts one of 10 different replies from Jeeves. At bedtime, pressing the rosette activates a 3-minute relaxation message with ambient music to help you drift off. The clock is also equipped with a button on the back that illuminates the face, so you can read the time in the dark.

The Infallibly Polite Speaking Alarm Clock is like having your very own English butler and is available from Hammacher Schlemmer for $99.95. They also have some audio snippets you can try before you buy. Very entertaining.

Update:
One for the ladies. Hammacher also now stock a women’s version of the Infallibly Polite / Speaking Butler Alarm Clock that says madam instead of sir for the same $99.95

    (1) How do I order “Good morning MADAM” rather than “SIR”? (2) Not to raise the subject of vulgar money, but I don’t see the cost of purchase and shipping listed. Thanks!

    Hi Dottie,
Hammacher Schlemmer have informed me that you can’t change the Speaking Butler Alarm Clock’s programming, however they do stock a women’s version of the clock that does say madam instead of sir. The price is the same at $99.95.
