Slide And Negative To Digital Picture Converter Saves Old Snaps

The Slide And Negative To Digital Picture Converter is a helpful gadget that makes digitizing all your old 35mm slides and negatives easy. Featuring a tray that takes care of film alignment, it will scan your images at the push of a button and send them to your computer over USB.

Also known as the Preserve Your Memories Slide And Negative Converter, it works in much the same way as Ion’s Film 2 SD Negative Scanner we’ve seen previously. Sporting a 5-megapixel CMOS sensor that will scan images at up to 1,800dpi, the Slide And Negative Converter automates the scanning process, taking care of color balance and exposure control for quick, but clear digital reproductions.

The Slide And Negative To Digital Picture Converter includes a USB cable and image editing software to crop and resize your scans, but unfortunately appears to only be compatible with Windows XP or Vista. If you’re “a PC“, head on over to Hammacher Schlemmer who have this slide and negative scanner available for $99.95. Also, check out their demonstration video to see just how easy it is to use.

Hammacher Schlemmer are offering Mark's Technology News readers free shipping on all orders over $99 until March 1st, 2010. To take advantage of this offer, simply enter voucher code FEBSHIPS at the checkout.

This is a relatively low quality product, and it doesn’t include any type of error correction software that’s really important when making high resolution scans.
