Samsung only just announced their curvy N310 netbook yesterday, but the South Korean giant isn’t stopping there, launching yet another mini notebook today called the Samsung N120. This model promises an impressive 10.5 hours of runtime through its long-life 6 cell battery, as well as a full-size 12-inch notebook keyboard for quicker and easier typing.

Samsung today announced a curvaceous new netbook called the N310 which features a large keyboard for easy typing and a “frameless”, scratch-resistant 10-inch display, with a glassy appearance similar to Apple’s Unibody MacBook Pros.

Dell Latitude E6400 XFR Launches With Ballistic Armor Casing

The giant PC manufacturer Dell today announced a new rugged laptop called the Latitude E6400 XFR, which features Ballistic Armor that Dell claims doubles the impact protection of traditional magnesium alloy cases. The XFR is well sealed too, being able to withstand dust, salt fog and even direct blasts of pressurized water (video below).

Sony Vaio P Series Netbook Unveiled, Fits In Jacket Pockets.

Sony today unveiled a remarkably small, light and rather attractive Netbook called the Vaio P Series at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. Only slightly larger than an office envelope, the ultra-portable weighs a mere 680g (1.4lbs) and features an 8-inch LED-backlit display, capable of a high 1600 x 768 pixel resolution.

Thanko CoolPad: Keeps Netbooks Cool, Adds Connectivity.

Thanko Japan have just released a new multifunction cooling pad for netbook users called the CoolPad, that cleverly incorporates a 2.5-inch SATA HDD slot and a 3-port USB hub. The pad, which is really more like a dock or a “mini-notebook PC station”, gives you a bit more flexibility when working with a pared-down netbook and keeps things cool when you’re over-working the CPU.

Intel/Ericsson: GPS Kill Switch To Disable/Locate Stolen Laptops

Ericsson today announced a partnership with Intel that aims to deliver a new level of security for laptops, as well as the data stored inside. Their development will be similar to Lenovo’s Lockdown PC Now announced a few weeks ago, that can disable a stolen laptop by text message. The Intel/Ericsson version will add a GPS locator to the mix, which sends location data to a central server enabling you to retrieve your kit…but only if you’re the gutsy sort. With big mates.
