Mercedes Intros Splitview Comand: One Screen, Two Shows.

Mercedes yesterday announced their new Splitview Comand (one m) technology which allows the driver and passenger to watch the same centrally positioned 8-inch display, but watch entirely different things. The screen is not split down the middle or anything, but takes a similar approach to how Philips made their “3D TV Without Glasses” technology, by using lenses/filters to project light at different angles.

Mercedes-Benz’s brilliant new myComand (their spelling) internet connectivity console was unveiled today at the LA Auto Show and seems like a cross between BMW’s all-in-one vehicle system control unit known as iDrive and the user-friendly, internet-driven iPhone.
