Huawei Technologies has announced its E180, which it claims is the world’s slimmest HSPA mobile broadband USB stick.
The unit measures only 10mm thick and supports the entire spectrum of mobile networks including HSPA, UMTS, GSM, EDGE and GPRS.
The E180 is capable of achieving speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps downstream and 5.76 Mbps upstream via its rotatable USB connector that can be turned 270 degrees (presumably back into the casing for protection).
What makes this device really special is the clever integration of a MicroSD slot so that you can use the one device for both mobile broadband and data storage. It supports a card of up to 8GB.
It will be available globally this month.
