New Nokia E71 – The Slimmer And Sexier E61i

Nokia has made official its new E71 smartphone, a sleek, elegant replacement for the E61i.

This new QWERTY smartphone is only 10mm thick and much like the new E66, it features a 3.2 megapixel camera on the back, combined with a front-facing camera for video calls.

The E71 features a 2.36-inch QVGA screen and has the same new function to switch between business and personal profiles as the E66.

The smartphone includes support for POP/IMAP accounts, push email, Bluetooth 2.0, HSDPA, WiFi and GPS.

The battery will get you 20 days of standby, 4.5 hours of 3G talk or 10.5 hours of GSM talk.

The screen is noticeably smaller than the previous E61i (2.36-inch vs. 2.8-inch) but the new model is more compact in all dimensions and is considerably lighter. It comes in at 4.4-inches tall (vs. 4.6), 2.2-inches wide (vs. 2.7) and 0.4-inch deep (vs. 0.5). It weighs 4.4 ounces (vs. 5.3).

The E71 will cost around $500 for an unlocked handset. There are no carrier subsidies as yet. Like the E66, the E71 will be available around Q3 of this year and come in either grey or white with metallic accents.
