Sanyo today unveiled an electric hybrid bicycle called the Eneloop Bike, which is based on their impressive Eneloop battery technology. The bike has a cruising range of 100km (62 miles) in auto mode which is similar to Panasonic’s regenerative electric bike and uses a unique two-wheel drive system for greater stability. Thursday, 19 June 2008 Sanyo has introduced its new second generation waterproof CE52SR1 52-inch LCD monitor which includes technology that enables the display to be used outdoors. As well as its marine-grade construction which makes it waterproof, the monitor includes a revolutionary technology that enables the screen to be easily viewed in sunlight. It has Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080, 1500:1 contrast ratio, a 1500 cd/m2 on-screen brightness, a 6.5ms response time and a 176-degree viewing angle. The CE52SR1 is lightweight and consumes less power than plasma models of its size. It uses a “no-holes” ventilation system with a casing made from marine-grade anodized aluminum. The monitor will be available in October for around $13,995. Source: Wednesday, 18 June 2008 Sanyo has released their new PLC-XP200L projector which is possibly a world first using 4 LCDs. The projector offers a resolution of 1024 x 768 like NEC’s NP905 also released today, but ups the spec with a 2,200:1 contrast ratio and 7,000 lumens. The addition of a fourth LCD which Sanyo calls a “color control device,” supposedly produces images that are “clearer, richer, and more beautiful” than the output from 3LCD projectors. It achieves this by using the fourth LCD to control the amount of projected yellow light. The dimensions are 370.0 x 187.0 x 439.9 mm and weighs in at 25.1 lbs minus the lens. The unit will ship in September with a price tag of $9,995. Source: Thursday, 5 June 2008 The new Sanyo Xacti HD1010 1080i Camcorder is a notable update to its previous HD1000 model featuring improved stabilisation and image processing. The camcorder has more computing power in its video processor than the former model capturing FullHD 1920×1080i at 14Mbps. The new Xacti features a video mode called Web SHR which enables 300 frames per second (fps) at 448×336 resolution. Another new feature is its “face chaser” technology for both still shots and video. The HD1010 has a still shot mode which can capture a continuous 7fps but with a maximum of 4 megapixel resolution. The camcorder has a focal length of 38 ~ 380 mm for stills and 49.7 ~ 497 mm for video with a 10x optical zoom lens (F1.8 ~ 2.5). For high-sensitivity shooting, the camcorder can provide up to ISO 3200. The battery can capture about two hours of video and the LCD display mounted above the pistol grip is 2.7 inches displaying around 23 million pixels. The camcorder has a built-in flash and microphone input. The dimensions are 112.6 × 90 × 54.5mm with a weight of about 311g including battery. It includes integrated software for video editing and DVD authoring as well as Nero 8 Essentials for Sanyo. The Sanyo Xacti HD1010 1080i Camcorder will be available in Japan on June 20 and the US in July with a price tag of 120,000 Yen / $799.99. Sources: | SUBSCRIBE: Stay up to date!
