Buffalo Intros RUF2-KL 8mm-Thin 16GB Flash Drives

Buffalo Japan today introduced a new line of flash drives with capacities of up to 16GB in an enclosure no more than 8mm thin. There are thinner drives out there such as the tiny iRiver Domino, but they don’t come close to offering this amount of storage.

OCZ Throttle: eSATA Flash Drive With USB Connectivity

OCZ technology recently unveiled an eSATA Flash Drive with built-in USB connectivity, similar to that of Kanguru’s e-Flash Drive announced back in November. Like the e-Flash, it offers fast eSATA transfers on computers equipped with the port, or ordinary transfers over USB for those that don’t, so you can have the best of both worlds when working between different computers.

Buffalo Japan Launches Tiny MicroSD-Based Thumb Drives

Buffalo Japan have today announced the release of a new ultra-small USB thumb drive that makes use of a removable MicroSD chip to store data. The drive is essentially a tiny implementation of a microSDHC card reader and comes bundled with your choice of 1GB, 2GB, 4GB or 8GB cards, though you can use your own.

Kanguru e-Flash: eSATA joins USB For A Faster Thumbdrive

For those of you who can’t wait for the 10x speed increase from the recently finalized USB 3.0 specification to be implemented, here’s a novel device that may help to bridge the gap. Called the Kanguru e-Flash, it is essentially a flash drive that pairs the traditional USB connector with a high-speed eSATA plug for a 5x increase in transfer speed.
