Remember Golden Shellback’s magical waterproof coating we saw back in July? We’ll it’s available now and we have a price list for coating several popular gadgets in their invisible waterproofing agent. The only problem is that you have to mail in that gadget you just can’t live without for the company to apply the coating.
A British company called Plasma Product Innovations (P2i) yesterday demonstrated a 100% waterproofing ion-mask process that like the Golden Shellback coating we saw last month, can protect any item from water whilst being completely invisible and without impacting on usability.
A new waterproofing solution has emerged from a company called Golden Shellback which promises to protect your shiny new iPhone 3G or other gadgets from all sorts of liquids and contaminates. It manages this while remaining completely invisible and without impacting usability.
Ideal for those who appreciate the iPhone 3Gs easy access to adult services or those terrified of getting their little gem anywhere near water, this coating covers all the inner and outer components and does such a good job that your gadget can even be used underwater (see video below).
The coating is applied in a vacuum and can be applied to virtually anything. It will also protect against oils, synthetic fluids, dust and dirt.
Pricing is expected to be between US$50-US$75 depending on the size of your gadget. No word on release date or distribution but we will probably have to mail our gizmos in for the company to apply the coating.
Sanyo has introduced its new second generation waterproof CE52SR1 52-inch LCD monitor which includes technology that enables the display to be used outdoors.
As well as its marine-grade construction which makes it waterproof, the monitor includes a revolutionary technology that enables the screen to be easily viewed in sunlight.
It has Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080, 1500:1 contrast ratio, a 1500 cd/m2 on-screen brightness, a 6.5ms response time and a 176-degree viewing angle.
The CE52SR1 is lightweight and consumes less power than plasma models of its size. It uses a “no-holes” ventilation system with a casing made from marine-grade anodized aluminum.
The monitor will be available in October for around $13,995.
