Thanks to a new device by Brando, those who appreciate a bit of cell phone quiet can now fight back (in a non-violent manner) with technology. Their portable cell phone jammer creates a reception dead spot with a radius of up to 10 meters around you and is universal, covering just about all cell spectrums including 3G.
The jammer will block all cell phones within your personal dead spot from making or receiving calls on GSM, 3G, CDMA, DECT, DCS, PCS or PHS spectrums and will operate continuously for 1.5 hours on a full battery. The included Li-ion battery is removable too, so if you want to get a full day of peace and quiet while you’re out and about, just take some extras with you.
Brando has recommended its use in conference rooms, class rooms and libraries which, as I see it, just enforces common courtesy. That’s good and all, but I think we’d all wanna have a little fun with it too – you know, use it on the bus, or as you’re passing cell users on the street. Hello? Hello?
The device is as small as an iPhone and will set you back $246, but hey, can you really put a price on a little peace and quiet (or a laugh)?
