Carl Zeiss Cinemizer Video Glasses Get Exhibited

Carl Zeiss have come up with a fascinating new product called the Cinemizer, which is worn like a pair of sunglasses and simulates a movie screen over 39-inches in size. The 115 gram (4 ounce) goggles are designed to offer superior video playback over the tiny screens on mobile devices.

The gadget comes with a built-in Lithium battery which can be charged via USB. A full 2.5-hour charge will get you 4-hours of use. It comes with adjustable earphones, adjustable lenses (to make room for spectacles) and interchangeable nose pads for a snug fit.

The Cinemizer has acheived the ‘made for iPod’ certification, is compatible with the Nokia N95 and can also be used to watch live TV on the Nokia N96 through its DVB-H receiver.

Pricing is not yet available, nor is availability, but the Cinemizer was being exhibited at the recent Photokina imaging exhibition in Germany, which is a good sign. Can’t wait to try a pair.
