It sure is a chilly winter. London’s all icy and some parts of England saw a low of minus 10° C (14° F) last night. Brrr. While we do our best to rug up in coats and scarves, there’s little we can do to keep our toes warm when out in the cold…until now.
The Rechargeable Heated Insoles are surprisingly slim shoe inserts that warm your lower extremities to a cosy 37° C (98.6° F) for up to 8 hours per full charge. They’re designed for winter sports such as skiing and sledding, but would be just as useful for day-to-day warmth during these harsh winter months.
The insoles incorporate a small lithium-ion battery for “consistently lengthy operation” and can be recharged up to 500 times. They require 8 hours of charging via an AC adapter (below) to get the matching 8 hours of operation, which should work out well if you use them during the day and charge them while you sleep.
Consisting of six different layers, the insoles incorporate heat-retaining synthetic material for extra warmth and an ergonomic, shock-absorbing base to make everything nice and comfy. The Rechargeable Heated Insoles are available now from Hammacher Schlemmer in a range of sizes for $99.95 and they come with a lifetime guarantee, which is reassuring. I wonder if that covers water damage?
