The Voice Interactive Alarm Clock is a clever device created by Moshi Lifestyle, that is fitted with advanced speech recognition technology to eliminate tedious button pressing. You can control everything from time and alarm settings to the built-in nightlight by speaking simple verbal commands – plus a friendly, realistic voice (that sounds like the computer on Star Trek) confirms your settings and answers your queries.
Recognizing 12 different commands including “Set Time,” “Set Alarm” and “Today’s Date,” the Voice Interactive Alarm Clock can even read out the time – so you don’t have to do that painful roll and squint in the morning to see if you’re running late. Just say “Hello Moshi, Time.”
Like the Wake To Weather Alarm Clock we saw recently, the Voice Interactive Moshi Alarm includes a temperature gauge that displays the current temp on screen, but of course here this is voice-activated too. Simply say “Hello Moshi, Temperature,” and the Moshi Alarm Clock will read it out to you.
The Voice Interactive Alarm Clock is almost as consistently polite as the Infallibly Polite Speaking Alarm Clock and is available now from Hammacher Schlemmer for $49.95. You’ll just have to remember that you begin a command with “Hello Moshi” not the “Hello Moto” thing Motorola have ingrained in our subconscious.
