I don’t know if the designers of this concept car are capital punishment zealots, but the two occupants look as if they’re destined to be heading down a road crossed with razor-sharp wire – positioned, say, about head height. The helmets? All part of the ruse. They’re test drivers for this new concept car, see?
This scary vision of the future can also perform some neat tricks. The Czech designers, Marek Kedzierski and Michal VlĨek created wheels that are capable of pivoting to such a degree that the car can do a complete 360 on its wheelbase and even drive sideways.
The NASA concept’s door-less cabin is accessed much like a pod. The giant lid is opened and closed like a convertible, except that when closed, your head sticks through a neoprene top.
I’m sure the maneuverability, ease of parking and tight turning circle of this concept would be a hit on production cars. The implementation of such a design shouldn’t be all that difficult either, though it may make cars slightly larger in size.
NOTE: Auto designers – We want! (Not the head thing though, that’s just creepy)
