Griffin recently released a new iPod dock called Simplifi, which is actually rather useful. It combines an iPod/iPhone charger and sync hub, media card slots and a USB hub all in one elegant device. It’s a simple little gadget, but one that’s sure to tidy up your desk, simplify media management and get rid of a few cables.
The Simplifi reads and writes to most popular digital media cards including SD, SDHC, xD, CompactFlash, MemoryStick and MemoryStick Pro, with data transferred to and from your computer via a USB mini cable.
It is compatible with the original iPhone and all iPod models that are dock-rechargable. Sadly, it doesn’t seem to be compatible with the 3G iPhone, though the latest 4th gen Nano and 2nd gen iPod Touch will work fine.
The dock includes an AC adapter to power its two USB 2.0 ports or charge your iPod/iPhone without a link to your computer. It will set you back $70 from Griffin’s store which is not bad IMHO.
I still prefer the Steve Jobs Bobblehead dock for laughs, though.
