Nokia E63: Attractive QWERTY Messaging Device Is Official

The much rumored Nokia E63 has been made official with Nokia today releasing a press release and yesterday sending out pre-production models to a few select bloggers. The handset / messaging device features a QWERTY keypad, WiFi and surprisingly, a pre-tax and subsidy price of only €199 ($258).

The E63 will come in two delicious colors; ruby red or ultramarine blue and will include 1GB of online file storage on Nokia’s Ovi. The handset will also include the personal / business mode switching ability seen on the E71, which apparently has been very well received. The two modes enable better management of day-to-day and business tasks by keeping them separate, switching between them with just one single key press.

The device will feature a standard 3.5mm headphone jack (you don’t need special headphones for a proprietary socket), a 2.0 megapixel camera (though sadly, fixed focus), 320 x 240 pixel display, quad-band GSM / EDGE, Bluetooth, microSD slot and 110MB of internal memory. The dimensions are 113mm (4.45″) x 59mm (2.32″) x 13mm (0.51″) with a weight of 126g (4.44 ounces). The E63 will be shipping in the next couple of weeks, but to where, is as yet unknown.
