Logitech Comfort Lapdesk: The Laptop Rest Gets Ergonomic

Logitech have announced a glossy (and I mean glossy) new product for laptop users, apparently to be released sometime in February. Called the Comfort Lapdesk; it is essentially a soft, ergonomic notebook rest that for $40 will dissipate heat and “feel great on your legs.”

The product was developed by Logitech’s Global Product Marketing Manager, Simone Chevalley who wanted something that would protect the body from the heat of a laptop (though I must say that warmth has been very welcome recently with the cold weather) and improve posture comfort, thanks to
an angled wide-body base.

The LapDesk can accommodate notebooks with displays of up to 17-inches in size and has a cushioned base, covered in a soft air-mesh fabric, which, while comfy-looking, doesn’t seem like it would wear too well.

The feature I like the most is the 12 degree angled riser, but it does not seem to be flexible like other products such as the Arbella Laptop Cool Table. Various seating positions and degrees of reclination require different keyboard angles and I’m sure users will vary in preferences. Being able to comfortably and productively use a laptop on your lap with your legs fully stretched out is definitely a selling point though and hey, the pretty girl seems to like it. Who am I to argue?
