Remember the Vado HD pocket camcorder from back in December? Well, it would seem the designers over at Creative Labs have decided to get, well…creative for the company’s just announced second-generation Vado HD.
Available in two versions; a 4GB model in glossy white with green accents and an 8GB unit in glossy black with red accents, the 2G Vado HD fixes what was perhaps the one thing holding the player back against the likes of Flip Video’s UltraHD and Samsung’s angle-y HMX-U10 HD pocket camcorders – its styling.
The specs – a 2-inch LCD, 720p video, HDMI out – all look to be unchanged from the previous model, but Creative have announced their new Vado Central software – which will make it easy for Mac owners to import their Vado vids to iMovie for basic editing under OS X. That should be available in early September and is compatible with all earlier Vado models too.
The new Vado HD second-generation models are available now on pre-order from Amazon.com with the 4GB white/green version going for $179.99 and the sexy 8GB red/back model asking $199.99. Shipping begins on September 20.
