Buffalo Intros RUF2-KL 8mm-Thin 16GB Flash Drives

Buffalo Japan today introduced a new line of flash drives with capacities of up to 16GB in an enclosure no more than 8mm thin. There are thinner drives out there such as the tiny iRiver Domino, but they don’t come close to offering this amount of storage.

While not as capacious as Transcend’s 64GB JetFlash Monster, the RUF2-KL is a good balance between size and storage space, particularly for those who carry their USB drives in the pockets of tight jeans, or simply for those who marvel at slim gadgetry.

The drive will be available in either black or white when it hits Japan this month, with full dimensions of 20mm (0.78″) x 8mm (0.31″) x 52mm (2.04″), a weight of 10g (0.35 ounces) and an expected price tag of ¥5,680 ($64).
